SHEEPSCOT RIVER RACE

Starts in Wiscasset and ends in Newcastle, Maine once again!!

This is a 6 MILE CANOE AND KAYAK RACE starting at the Wiscasset Waterfront in Wiscasset, Maine

and finishing at Sherman Lake in Newcastle. The last four miles of moving water meanders through beautiful protected marshes and riverbanks. This race is part of the Maine Canoe & Kayak Flat Water Racing Series.

 

AWARDS AND REFRESHMENTS will follow the race at Sherman Lake in Newcastle.

  This race is organized and run by Seaspray Kayaking.

All pre-registered participants will receive a Sheepscot River River Race T-shirt.

STARTING TIME: 10:00 a.m. - Sunday, July 5th

RULES : Mackro with Decision of Race Director being final.

Sheepscot River Race

July 5th @ 1 pm

 

DIRECTIONS

From Points South - 95 North to Exit 31 (Route 1) in Brunswick.

      Stay on Route 1 North for approximately 15 miles. Before crossing the bridge in

        Wiscasset (by Sarah's Pizza), take a Right and go .5 miles to the Wiscasset Waterfront.

 

From Points North- 95 South to Augusta (Route 27).

      Stay on Route 27 until it ends in Wiscasset (approximately 25 miles). Take a left

      onto Route 1 North and proceed about .5 miles. Turn Right before the Wiscasset

       Bridge (by Sarah's Pizza) and go .5 miles to the Wiscasset Waterfront.

 

*Best Finish Line Viewing Area is under the Bridge beside Sherman Lake just off Route 1*
